Module Outline

The module seeks to provide an introductory background knowledge to Global business and aims to provide a perspective on globalisation and how it affects business decisions and the challenges of internationalising your business. You will explore and understand the impact of culture in a changing global workplace in international business and develop a range of effective management strategies in response to the global environment.

Put in context globalisation’s impact on business;

LO 2

Understand WTO and de-regulation across markets;

LO 3

Analyse the functions of an organisations’ functions and culture within a globalised or multinational business.

 

Assessment Outline:

Formative:

  3. What are the barriers to trading across borders?
  4. What are the benefits of internationalising your business?
  5. Explain the economic drivers behind globalisation.

Workshop- Using the notes you have prepared in Activity 1 above, prepare a Poster for your business. Tutor to lead and encourage students to prepare the poster.

Action: Students to work on completing the Poster for feedback in week 2 tutorial session.

Tutor to use the sample poster on the VLE to guide students and provide immediate feedback.
