The Assessment
Global Market Report
Your Client, Global Property Services (GPS) Plc – a UK based international real estate investment / development company - is planning to expand their global operations to an emerging property market. The GPS strategic focus is to select one of the following regional markets:
Central Eastern Europe (e.g. Bucharest / Romania, Budapest / Hungary, Prague / Czech Republic, Warsaw / Poland); or
Middle East (e.g. Istanbul / Turkey; Dubai or Abu Dhabi / UAE); Tehran / Iran); or
Asia Pacific (e.g. SAR Hong Kong or Shanghai / PR China; Singapore; or Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia).
You are required to write a report which discusses the findings of your research and observations and provides an investment or development strategy in your selected city and country (one of the listed cities / countries from regional markets above).
Your report should include three parts, as follows:
Part 1: Introduction including a clear identification of the selected city / country and property sector selected for investment or development (please choose one from: Residential, Office, Retail, Data Centres, Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), Warehouses and Logistics).
Part 2: A property market analysis of the selected property sector, including a discussion of emerging trends and opportunities as well as a SWOT analysis. You should include potential sites and case studies as examples of either development or investment opportunities.
Part 3: An outline of the proposed investment strategy (type of property investment and addressing associated risks) or development strategy (comparative property development sector returns and risks) and timeline (short, mid or long-term strategy) and recommendations to your Client.
You should draw on published sources, lectures and discussions in the classroom and your individual research of the selected property market. You are expected to make full use of Harvard “Cite Them Right” referencing style, including in-text citations as well as a list of references matching your citations.
This is an individual report and that should be written using academic writing style and supported by evidence (references clearly indicating your sources).
The main body must be only 2,500 words (+/- 10%) including illustrations, photographs, statistics, maps etc relevant to your study as well as a detailed list of references (Harvard referencing style is a requirement). Appendices (if applicable) will not be included in the word count (if in a foreign language these need to be translated into English).

The report should include an executive summary, table of contents and list of figures and tables, in-text referencing and list of references at the end (in accordance with Harvard “Cite Them Right” style), appendices if appropriate (e.g. comparable data, etc).
