Information

An extension to an existing  cycle path is to be constructed at Gunners Park Shoeburyness Essex, as shown in Figure 1. Part of the work involves the construction of a bridge over a small inlet river.  The full working drawings for the bridge  are published on the Moodle EG5012 site. Note that due to the area being an SSSI the site compound and access routes will need to be carefully considered.  To construct the works the inlet river will need to be temporarily dammed to provide a dry working area.  No heavy plant over 9t can be used close to the bridge site without a hard-standing.  See Figure 1 below for details.

You are required to prepare a set of detailed documents outlining your proposed construction works to build the project.  You will then present them to the client with a view to securing the contract for the work. One student will act as the construction manager
